Welcome to the Sailor Bandido Racing website.  Sailor Bandido Racing campaigns our Quest 33, Sailor Bandido and our J-80, Hijo Del Bandido in one design and handicap sailing events. 

Our Racing Program

 

Having a busy work and family schedule we try to do at least one major event a year.  Last year Hijo del Bandido competed in its first distance race and finished 1st in its section and 2nd overall in the Lake Michigan Single-handed Society’s 30th Anniversary Double Handed Race.  This race started from Winthrop Harbor and ended in Port Washington.

 

This year, we are planning to get Sailor Bandido out of the shed for a double-handed event.  Sailor Bandido last competed in the 2010 Newport to Bermuda race.  The boat preparation came down to the wire, but the boat did an amazing job for us.

 

Our last trip was a milestone adventure as 1/3 of our crew were cancer survivors and we were the first ever entrant from Indiana.  They continue to respond to their treatment and have proven that it is possible to say No to Cancer!  Please consider supporting either the Little Red Door or the American Cancer Society by clicking on their logo.
